Easter with The Dead in Greensboro North Carolina

Woke up on Maizie's Aunt and Uncles lamb farm. Had a big beautiful breakfast with farm fresh eggs and bacon. Delicious. Great hospitality. Then we drove through Lynchburg, Va. We found a beautiful old side of town that they are restoring. One included a Brewery/Restaurant called Waterstone brewery is Jefferson Street Brewery. A lot like Faccia Luna. Great food decent beer a killer skunk IPA. It was delicious. Then we drove down to Greensboro,NC. Had a lot of problems with our check in and hotel. Hotels.com screwed us and didn't book the room that we booked. So there is no guarantee that you get the hotel you are looking for. Will never use them again. Just book directly with the hotel from now on. Was told that orbitz and some other sites are more reliable.... expedia maybe? Anyway got moved in to the hotel and met some great heads around as well. A couple from Georgia (Wes and Shelly) were nice enough to let us car pool with them. Lot was nice but Shakedown Street you couldn't even move in. The Dead show was great except for an almost 45 minute "Space"...

Set 1: Music Never Stopped, Jack Straw, Estimated Prophet > Jam > He’s Gone > Jam… , Touch Of Gray, I Need A Miracle > Truckin’

Set 2: Jam > Shakedown Street > Jam > All Along The Watchtower > Caution > Spacy Jam > Drumz/Space > Cosmic Charlie, New Potato Caboose > Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin’s Tower,

Donor Rap

Encore: Samson & Delilah

Just came back to the hotel and passed out. Oh yeah the most expensive Long Island Ice Tea ever.... $12 each. We only got one of course!

4 Breweries In One Day

1,115 miles to go!!!

That's right. Today we did Four Breweries in one day. Woke up in Arlington at Comfort Inn. Lots of rain so no hiking/camping. Stopped at Blue & Grey Brewery first. All bottles sold in 22oz form. Got 2 Lager, 2 Pale Ale, 2 Stout, and 1 Belgian. Supposedly building a brewpub next door. A little weird because it is located at the end of an abandoned industrial park. Then Star Hill Brewery. They did not have any experimental beer this time... everyone is feeling the recession. Had Northern Lights in bottle now however The Love was great and have some coming home. Then Blue Mountain Brewery which is located in the middle of several wineries. Built to look like a winery. Very open with very casual seating. The had a great Abbey Dubbel and an Imperial Bourbon Stout. Last was The Devil's Backbone. It is a beautiful new restaurant in Wintergreen. Made to look like a log cabin but made completely sustainable and made from recycled materials from floor to ceiling. Lots of Bluegrass on and a crazy IPA.....Belgian Congo IPA. Then we met Maizie's Aunt and Uncle here in Waynesboro for baby lamb feeding and then we fed on one of the lambs...cooked med rare to rare!!!! It was great. They picked us up some beers from Queen State Brewery. Great stuff. Great day. Tomorrow North Carolina and The Dead

Brewery Day

1272 miles to go!!!

Today Blue & Grey Brewery, Star Hill Brewery, and Blue Mountain Brewery. Raining. Don't think we will get a good day of hiking either. So we are going to stop at Maizie's relatives house in Waynesboro, Va instead of Shenandoah National Forest. Brewery day!!!!
